The universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself; everything that you want, you already are. — Rumi

Why is it that I can tell by the first three notes if I’m going to love a song, from the first sentence if I am going to like a book, and from the first kiss if a guy is going to ruin my life?

Maybe everything we need to know is already inside of us? All of the wisdom just waiting for us to discover it.

Yet we go searching for answers constantly from the outside world: from Google to WebMD, TikTok to Instagram.

Somebody knows more than I do. Somebody knows better.

Somebody else knows how to make me thin, make me happy, help me find love.

I’m guilty of it too, of course.

I went searching for the answer of what to write about.

Tell me what to do. What to think. What to write. Please anyone else decide, but me.

Then I can judge everyone for all writing the same thing.

Write about writer’s block. (Yeah, been there done that: I have 200 journals).

But that’s on me.

Maybe we already know what will make us happy, what will quench our inner thirst.
